The story of doctor sleep follows the events of The Shining ( Stephen King’s novel) in which Danny the lead character remains psychologically traumatized, while his mother named Wendy slowly recovers from her injuries. Moreover, Danny was found by the ghosts of the Overlook Hotel that were looking for him. But Danny was taught of how to imprison the ghosts in the kick boxes in his mind by Chef Hallorann. But, like his father, Dan also drifts towards alcohol for decades until he finds a community later in which he gives up drinking.
Torrance finally settles in New Hampshire and also gets a job in hospice care and becomes popularly known as “Doctor Sleep” due to his remnant psychic abilities that can provide comfort to the dying. Eventually, Dan gets in contact with Abra, a toddler girl who possesses greater psychic powers than Dan establishes a telepathic bond with Doctor Sleep.
This courageous teenager has an extraordinary gift, known as ‘shine’ seeks the help of Dan against the merciless Rose the Hat and her followers, The True Knot. In their quest for immortality, three followers Fred off the shine if innocents. Dan and Abra finally form an unlikely alliance against the battle with Rose. Moreover, the fearless nature of the Abra compels Dan to call upon his own powers that he was unaware of.
