Charles Q. Brown Jr Appointed as New Air Force Chief

Charles Q. Brown Jr: The US Senate has unanimously appointed in African-American as the air force’s chief of staff the first time in history a four-star General Charles Q. Brown Jr. has been elevated from his position he is now the first black man to hold the position of the air force’s chief of staff the US Senate voted ninety-eight to zero in favor of Charles Q. Brown Jr.

This comes a week after Charles Q. Brown Jr. released a video in which he spoke about his struggles of being a black man in America the video was released as people all across the United States were protesting and gets the death of George Floyd at the hands of a white police officer.

Furthermore, Charles spoke about the unequal treatment that he had to face in the armed forces because of the color of his skin. In the video, he said “I think about how cool I am with emotion not just for George Floyd but the many African-Americans that have suffered the same fate as George Floyd. I’m thinking about protests in my country tis of thee sweet land of liberty the Equality expressed in our Declaration of Independence in the Constitution that I’d sworn my adult life to support and defend and thinking about a history of racial issues and my own experiences that didn’t always sing of liberty and equality the thinking about living in two worlds each with their own perspective and views. I’m thinking about my sister not being the only African Americans that our entire elementary school and trying to fit in.”

Later, on June 9th President Donald Trump wrote on Twitter “My Decision to appoint @usairforce General Charles Brown as the USA’s first-ever African American Military service chief has now been approved by the senate. A historic day for America! Excited to work even more closely with Gen. Brown, who is a patriot and great leader!.”

Vice president Mike Pence also made a reappearance on the Senate floor to preside over general Brown’s appointment the vote comes as a rare moment of unanimity in a Senate that is deeply divided. On Tuesday, Charles was confirmed as the 22nd Air Force chief of staff his high-flying resume boasts 2,900 flying hours including 130 combat hours he commanded a fighter squadron and two fighter wings just to name a few things, the Secretary of the Air Force wrote on Twitter.

Charles Q. Brown Jr. was born in 1962, his age is 58 years old as of 2020. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. Later, he earned a master’s degree in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, in Daytona Beach, Florida.
