V. J. Chitra was a Tamil Actress and Anchor, she passed away on December 9th, 2020. According to the Police report, the actress was found dead in Chennai’s Nazrathpet hotel room.
Chitra was found hanging from the ceiling fan in the hotel room, on the previous day she finished her shooting at EVP Film City and returned to her room along with her fiance Hemanth.
Her friends, family members, and fans tributed her on social media, Shanthnu Buddy wrote on Twitter “Time n again we talk about this. Life is too precious to end itBroken heart. I really wish she spoke out to someone before deciding to end her life. Wtv the WAR u are fighting within, pls speak it out, it DEFINITELY HELPS… a second is more than enuf to change a decision.”
Then, TheHindu Columnist Sreedhar Pillai wrote “Sad to hear about death by suicide early today morning of television & serial actress #VJChitra of #PandianStores serial fame. #RIPChitra.”
V. J. Chitra Debuted As Anchor
In 2013, she began working as an Anchor at Makkal TV and shot to fame from the Tamil soap opera Pandian Stores.
As an Anchor, she served at Jaya TV, Raadan, Vendhar TV, Zee Tamil, and Star Vijay. In 2019, Chitra made a guest appearance as Mullai on Pongal Episode which was aired on Star Vijay.
Her breakthrough in her career came when she played the role of Mullai (Kathir’s Wife) in Pandiyan Stores, Chitra gained popularity which helped her career in the Entertainment industry, from 2018 to 2020 Chitra played the character of Mullai in the Pandiyan Stores Tv Show.
Besides this, the actress participated in Jodi fun unlimited and placed as 1st Runnerup with Kumaran, in 2017 she was one of the contestants at Zee Dance League. From 2016 to 2017, Chitra played Anitha who is Vicky’s wife in Darling Darling.
From 2013 to 2016, she played the role of Kalaiyarasi (Vettaiyan’s friend) in the second season of Saravanan Meenatchi. Later, in her career, she participated in the reality show Ring O Ring.
V. J. Chitra Was Engaged With Hemanth Kumar
In August 2020, Chitra and Hemanth Kumar got engaged. Then, on October 19, 2020, the couple applied for the registered marriage, only a few friends and family members were invited to the ceremony.
Hemanth is a Businessman, On December 19th Chitra was found dead in the hotel room. According to the police report, Hemanth told she went to take bath but she didn’t come outside for a long time, so Hemanth called the hotel staff to break the door open.
Upon opening the door Hemanth and others saw Chitra hanging from the ceiling fan.

She posted her picture on Instagram on December 19th, on her official Instagram tributes are pouring in.
On Instagram, she boasts 1.5 Million followers and her bio reads “GIFT ME ON MAY 2, ANCHOR/ACTRESS, MODEL / DANCER / SINGER, PSYCHOLOGIST, MADRAS KAARI, RESPECT HUMANS.”
On December 6th, she posted her picture and captioned “Think twice, talk wise, but better opt Silence, At times, SILENCE speaks louder than words!!.”
Chitra Graduated From SIT College In Chennai
Talking about her education, she attended Dr. MGR Janaki College of Arts and Science for Women and graduated in 2017, then she earned her Master’s Degree in MSC Psychology from SIT College in Chennai.
