Richard Farmer aka Richard T. Farmer was an American businessman, philanthropist and the chairman and founder of Cintas Corp has died at the age of 86, the cause for the death is not known. Cintas officials said in a statement “Everyone at Cintas is deeply saddened by the passing of Dick Farmer, our founder, and chairman emeritus,” added “The story of Dick’s life is very much intertwined with the history of our company. His legacy and the culture of honesty, integrity, and professionalism that he instilled at Cintas continue today and into the future. Our sympathy goes out to the entire Farmer family, including Joyce, his beloved wife, and Scott Farmer, Dick’s son and Cintas’ executive chairman.” Farmer is survived by his wife Joyce of 64 years and his three children and their spouses, Brynne and Bob Coletti, Scott and Mary Farmer, and Amy and George Joseph; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. The farmer once said “I worked seven days a week until I dropped,” added “Corporate culture is the single most important distinguishing factor between greatness and mediocrity. It is the major reason Cintas is different from competitors and other companies. It is our ultimate competitive advantage.”
