Rumeysa Gelgi is an Advocate, Researcher, Junior Front-End Developer, and the world’s tallest living woman, on October 13th, 2021 Guinness World Records confirmed that Rumeysa is the world’s tallest woman standing at 215.16cm (7ft 0.7in). Previously, she holds the record of tallest teenager living (female) in 2014, and during that time she was 18 years old. Rumeysa is suffering from a condition called Weaver syndrome, it’s a condition that accelerated growth in skeletal maturation. Moreover, she can’t walk without the help of a wheelchair and after Guinness World Records declared Gelgi as the worlds tallest woman she said in a statement “Every disadvantage can be turned into an advantage for yourself so accept yourself for who you are, be aware of your potential and do your best.” Later, Craig Glenday, Editor-in-Chief, Guinness World Records said “It’s an honour to welcome Rumeysa back into the record books. Her indomitable spirit and pride at standing out from the crowd is an inspiration. The category of tallest living woman is not one that changes hands very often, so I’m excited to share this news with the world.”

She was born to Safiye Gelgi (Mother) who is a lab technician and her father is a retired Doctor, she also has a sister named Hilal Gelgi who is also a Lab Technician. On July 6th, she shared a picture with her parents on Instagram and wrote “My superheros. Happy 43rd anniversary to my two favorite people in entire world. Almost 45 years together.”
