Ron Flowers started his career at the Doncaster Rovers academy, it was the same academy his father played semi-professionally. Ron is the elder brother of John Flowers, who is an English former footballer and played as a midfielder for Stoke City, Doncaster Rovers, Port Vale, and Eastwood. Also, Ron trained as an apprentice at the Doncaster rail sheds and after he was released by Doncaster he joined the Wolves’ nursery side Wath Wanderers. Then, he moved to Molineux and made his debut against Blackpool on 20 September 1952. Also, he served in the Royal Air Force and became an Aircraftman Second Class at Padgate and then transferred to Hednesford. On May 15th, 1995, he made his international debut against France, and in his career, he won 49 caps for England and scored ten goals.
