In January 2011, she joined the Office of the Attorney General of the State of New York as Counsel to the Attorney General and Chief Ethics Officer and served in this position until May 2012. Furthermore, she was the Partner at Harris Beach PLLC between May 2012 to August 2014, during her tenure Brown provided counsel on regulatory compliance and serve as defense counsel in enforcement actions for clients in many industries. Since September 2014, Brown is serving as the Deputy Commissioner for Legal Affair at New York City Fire Department, she provides legal and administrative advice to the Fire Commissioner and his staff. Also, she is working as the Chief Legal Counsel and Deputy Commissioner for Legal Affairs and Administration at the Fire Department of New York City. From October 2021, Brown is serving as the Commissioner at New York State Joint Commission on Public Ethics.
